On August 30, the 8th Zhongguancun IC Industry Forum of “Chip Innovation in Beijing” was held as part of 2024 Zhongguancun Forum series activities. At the forum site, the second phase of the ZGC Integrated Circuit Design Park project was officially unveiled.

The project, jointly created by Haidian District and ZGC Development Group, is committed to building the largest integrated circuit industry cluster focusing on the transformation of high-end R&D results and start-ups’ achievements in China.

Relying on its integration service advantages in the innovation ecosystem, the ZGC Development Group will continuously optimize the supporting facilities and industrial ecology of the ZGC Integrated Circuit Design Park, in order to realize the interactive development of the first and second phases of the park and help upgrade the innovation level of Beijing’s integrated circuit industry.

The second phase of the project takes Area D of Haidian Dayue Information Technology Park, covering 35,000 square meters of space, as the starting area, and will expand to the surrounding area and reach 100,000 square meters in the future.

Since its opening in 2018, the first phase of ZGC IC Design Park has been, based on the physical space carrier of the park, providing enterprises with all-round, whole-chain and whole-process professional services. It has constructed a service center for generic technologies, established a platform for industry-university-research cooperation, and invited professional service institutions to serve the companies in the park, to build an "ecological model room" for the IC design sector.

As of 2023, there were 120 IC-related high-tech enterprises in the ZGC Integrated Circuit Design Park. The total revenue of the park was 51.07 billion yuan, and the total revenue of pan-IC enterprises in the park accounted for 53% of the total revenue of Beijing's IC design industry. 

Due to its noticeable industrial agglomeration effect, the park has been identified as a national characteristic industrial cluster for small and medium-sized enterprises.
