As the first batch of patent open license pilot institutions in Beijing, Beijing Intellectual Property Operation Management Co., LTD. (referred to as "Beijing IP"), a subsidiary of ZGC Group, has released 80 patent open licenses so far this year. These patents come from six enterprises, i.e. Chan­jet, RealAI, Shell House, Lingyu Intelligent control, LYRobotix, Whyhow Information Technology, covering intelligent sensing, next-generation information technology, virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital twin, cloud computing and other fields.

Beijing IP leverages its own service stations, IP Online (www.bjiponline.com), and the official website of China Technology Exchange to promote the achievement transformation to the maximum extent. IP Online is the IP Operation Public Service Platform of Zhongguancun that is built and operated by Beijing IP.

Up to now, Beijing IP has guided 9 universities, enterprises and individuals to go through patent open license registration. It also adopted varying payment methods and license terms according to the different characteristics of these patent owners. The maximum term of the license could be the same as that of the patent right. Payment methods range from one-time payment, full royalty payment, to entry fee plus royalty payment, etc.

Meanwhile, Beijing IP also uses IP Online and its own workstations in technology parks (providing offline services) to facilitate the accurate matching of patent information, the transfer and application of IP rights, turning more and more “Intellectual Properties” into “Assets”.
