On March 22, the 2nd Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students in Beijing was launched. Beijing ZGC Software Park, a member of ZGC Development Group and also a strategic supporting unit of the competition, and Beijing ZGC Zhiku Entrepreneurship and Innovation Talent Service Co., Ltd., the chief thinktank of the competition, will screen, incubate and accelerate the participating projects.

It is expected 100 universities and research institutions will participate in the two competitions. Nearly 20,000 projects will be submitted, and 1,000 high-quality projects jointly created by teachers and students will be selected out.

This competition will hold a series of activities known as “1+7”, i.e. 1 main competition and 7 concurrent events. The main competition includes two games, one for projects from colleges and universities, the other for projects form higher vocational colleges. The former has five racing tracks, namely sci-tech innovation, social service, cultural creativity, rural revitalization and big health; and the latter has only one track.

This year, there are two new racing tracks, i.e. big health and high vocational education projects, which will promote the high-quality development of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors, and encourage the healthy development of innovation and entrepreneurship education in higher vocational colleges.

Seven Concurrent events include the release of Beijing College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Roport (2022), Beijing College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Achievements Exhibition, Beijing College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Workshop, Beijing College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp, Project Docking Meeting for Excellent Entrepreneurial Teams, Selection of “100 ‘Golden Seeds’ Projects” of Beijing College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Docking of Beijing College Teachers and Students Sci-tech Innovation Projects.

The winning teams can get ten benefits, such as rent-free settlement in Beijing College Student Pioneer Park, prize and bonus, whole-process business incubation service, publicity and promotion, matching of investment and financing and more.

“Docking of Beijing College Teachers and Students Sci-tech Innovation Projects” is a new event and service of this competition. It is designed to build a comprehensive service platform; promote the transformation of competition achievements; coordinate with government departments, large SOEs and investment funds; promote R&D cooperation, technology licensing, evaluation investment and so on; realize the market value of sci-tech achievements, and; drive the innovative development of strategic emerging industries in Beijing.
