The list of “Sci-tech Innovation in China” was released recently at 2022 annual conference of “Sci-tech Innovation in China” held by China Association for Science and Technology. The “2021 List of Sci-tech Innovation in China” selected a total of 64 open-source products, communities and agencies with innovativeness, contribution and influence. from various open-source fields in China. ZGC International Open-source Innovation Ecological Community was selected into the list of open-source community.

In May 2020, ZGC Software Park was approved as the open-source pilot of “Sci-tech Innovation in China”. The Software Park is constructing an open-source innovation community through the combination of new sci-tech district, innovation community and industrial park. 

Since the approval, ZGC Software Park has been building the open-source ecosystem in five aspects: 1) accelerate the development of open-source innovation demonstration base and build an ecological network for open-source innovation; 2) plan and organize a series of open-source innovation activities, and set up an open-source innovation platform; 3) improve the service system for digital public technologies, and develop a testing platform for sci-tech innovation; 4) form a training system for open-source innovative talents and develop a key engine for regional industrial upgrading; and 5) establish an open-source innovation incubation system in collaboration with leading enterprises, and encourage the formation of an integrated open-source innovation community.

In the future, ZGC Software Park will actively link and integrate sci-tech service, sci-tech finance, industrial investment and other resources in Zhongguancun. Based on its innovation space, the Software Park will work with open-source agencies and leading enterprises to co-build an international open-source innovation community with integrated functions of technology community, project incubation, fund investment, professional competition, talent training, international exchange and etc.

Eventually, it will accelerate the development and implementation of a number of open-source technologies and innovation projects in related fields, and thus advance the development of the open-source ecosystem.
