Between June 8 and July 2, the training center of ZGC Software Park provide online professional internship services for 131 students from Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology. This service can also assist colleges and universities in following the roadmap for constructing new engineering majors, i.e. “Tailor engineering majors to industrial needs, and construct a new structure for engineering majors”.

During this online internship, students were required to complete their tasks by using remote office software and online tools for software development collaboration. Professional teachers and administrative staff were designated to use online tools to manage the internship and ensure that all students complete their internship tasks. The first exploration of online internship by the talent base proved a success.

The internship courses included Basics of Git, Test Case Design, Introduction of Agile R&D Process, Basics of Python, Automated Web Testing (Selenium) and etc. The internship was divided into different stages, for example, fulfillment of tasks, submission of deliverables, teacher review, student modification, road show and oral defense, score evaluation and etc.    

By assuming a position in the simulated enterprise, students could verify whether their skills and personality are suitable for their positions, so that they could find an appropriate position by the end of the internship. The internship enabled the students to combine theories with practices and get full exercise in teamwork. Students were evaluated according to the Staff Conduct Codes of the company. 

The Training Center of ZGC Software Park

With the school-running qualification issued by the competent education authorities, the Training Center of ZGC Software Park, established by Beijing ZGC Software Park Development co., Ltd., is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing talent services for technology firms.  

The talent base, located in the International Software Building, can provide services for nearly 1,000 trainees simultaneously in a first-class teaching environment and a teaching venue of 5,000 square meters.

Relying on the IT industry cluster, the talent base aims to combine education and industries together; set up ZGC Innovation and Entrepreneurship College on the basis of a deep investigation of the talent requirements of enterprises inside the park; and build a service platform and an advanced model in the Park for mass entrepreneurship and innovation.
