Recently, the Beijing Planning Committee announced to award the ZGC Life Science Park the title of “2015 Beijing Green Ecological Demonstration Zone”, among one of three demonstration zones in Beijing this year.  

Over past few years, Beijing has been actively promoting the concept of “green” in the field of architecture and urban planning. In line with relevant ecological construction requirements of Beijing, the application and review work of “Green Ecological Demonstration Zone” was formally initiated in the July of 2015. After preliminary review, on-site verification, expert evaluation and project publicity and other links, the ZGC Life Science Park, the Shougang New Comprehensive Service Area and the ZGC Cuihu Sci-Tech Park won the title of “Beijing Ecological Demonstration Zone”.  

From the beginning of planning and construction, the ZGC Life Science Park has been pursuing the goal of creating a “green, healthy, vigorous and ecological park”. It has established an ecological planning system that includes an indicator system, a special planning and an implementation scheme, so as to improve the overall service quality of the park and create a better environment for enterprises in the park. At the same time, it has also worked to practice the concept of sustainable development, built a model sample for green ecological parks, and further enhanced value and brand effects of ZGC Changping Sci-tech Park.  

The overall goal of the follow-up work of ecological construction is to improve the ecological environment, water resources utilization and treatment, traffic inside the Park, and Park management. That is to say, to form good ecological cycle through the construction of an ecological base; to protect water environment by saving and recycling water; to build a green public transport system through road network optimization, traffic carbon emission reduction and green travel; and to establish intelligent park management and improve the overall quality of the park.
